Dora Smith Frasier

Caring and Sharing board member

With Jesus

Caring and Sharing board members will deeply miss the caring heart, faithful presence and hard work of Dora Frasier, who went home suddenly, and was with the Lord as the year 2012 - and all eternity, began for her.

A Celebration of Her Homegoing was held Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at the Hemingway High School, with a large crowd attendiing. There was singing and shouting at her homegoing, as well as some tears of grief at parting. The shouts were of praise to God for his goodness shown in her life. The choir sang "What a friend we have in Jesus," and "I must tell Jesus." Attendees were challenged to get to know Dora's Jesus, if they did not already.

Dora knew hardship in many forms, yet she was rich in love - for her Lord Jesus, for her church, for her family, and for others who knew hardships. She leaves behind nine children, eighteen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

As a board member, treasurer, and volunteeer at Caring and Sharing, she will also be missed. At her homegoing, Director Carl Harmon paid tribute to her:

In the year 2000, a wonderful lady came into our hearts, and I knew in my heart this was no accident. God had seen that she needed us and we needed her. That's when the wonderful relationship began. Over time we grew closer and closer.

Dora was not just a dear friend; Kay and I felt that she was our sister. We knew that there was nothing Dora would not do for us, if it was within her power - and she knew the same about us.

God blessed us with 12 beautiful years to know Dora, to love Dora, and to build that special relationship with her that God had planned many years before.

We will miss Dora for a time, but this is not good-bye; this is saying, Dora, we will see you later. Because I feel Dora is with her Lord and Savior today. Kay and I, and I hope all of you will be there also before long.

Let's remember Jesus' promise (Matthew 14:1-3) "Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to myself; that where I am, there you may be also."

We love you, Dora, and will see you soon!

Love,
Carl & Kay & family
